Sweetwater Cable Television / Green River Cable TV
Sweetwater Cable Television/Green River Cable TV brings you access to the best in Television programming through our Basic Cable, Expanded Basic Cable and Digital Cable Packages. You get the programming you want, with local service and the same commitment to our community that we've offered since 1956.
We pride ourselves on the continuing improvements we are making, bringing Sweetwater County the latest Television Technology and true High Speed Internet access. With three levels of Internet Service, you pick the speed you want, with the convenience of an "Always On" connection.
Sweetwater Cable TV and Green River Cable TV have begun the transformation of providing our customers their Cable TV experience in a full Digital format. This transition is occurring at this time for many reasons including providing you a better picture, more products and service, more HD channels and to meet future FCC requirements.
For our customers, our intention is to simplify this process as much as possible, while knowing there are many questions and uncertainties with this transition. However, in order for us to offer our customers the choices they desire, this is the direction we must proceed in. We will soon be re-naming programming packages in order to better reflect channel options. Some channels will be relocated within their packages due to engineering requirements, but the channels within those packages themselves, will remain unchanged.
This transition will occur in stages, beginning early in the summer of 2010, with hopes of a full transition before winter of 2010. The first step, which is being completed now, is a complete transformation of our headend, where we aggregate channels, and put them in programming order. Next we will be creating a temporary Digital Simulcast with a full programming lineup in the new Digital format. This simulcast will be located up in the 70s and 80s, near the current HD channels, and will be available to customers whose TVs have Digital tuners in them. The new format for TVs with Digital tuners will appear just like the current Broadcast HD channels do (89.1 etc.) For customers using converters from us for current Digital Cable, the only change you will notice is a clearer picture on channels 3-77.
For customers using Analog TVs, or for those with Digital Ready that dont have Digital tuners, we will provide up to 2 simple converters (DTAs with remotes) for no additional monthly fees, with additional converters available for $2.50 each per month. We hope to have the first converters ready for deployment by mid July, 2010.
Unfortunately, due to programmer requirements, HD versions of channels in the current Expanded Basic package will continue to be available only through leased HD converters, or with M-Card enabled TIVOs. Broadcast HD channels will remain un-encrypted and available as free and clear
We will do our best to keep you informed as we progress and updates will soon be on our website, www.sweetwaterhsa.com, under a new folder called Digital Transition. As always, we appreciate you business, and look forward to this transition and the great new things to come.
