Paul Ng has been photographing professionally since 1990. His fine arts prints have been collected by private individuals, businesses and institutions in the U. S. and overseas. His commercial works, wedding and portrait images have set new standards in Southwest Wyoming and drawn praise and compliments widely. His images have been published in Outdoor Photographer, Shutterbug, Wyoming Wildlife, American West, Hong Kong’s Fotoart and Photog magazines.
Paul was born near Guangzhou, China. His early education was in Hong Kong, then a British Colony. He received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Memphis State University, now known as University of Memphis. He then went on to finish with master’s degree in environmental health from East Tennessee State University. Settling down in Wyoming since 1980, Ng has worked for the Wyoming State Health Department for fifteen years before working for Sweetwater County Health in 1995
Paul took his first class in photography in 1987. Large format photography became his mainstay since 1991. He works in both black and white and colors. Paul has also studied black and white printing and dark room techniques with the great black and white master John Sexton, who was Ansel Adam’s assistant and consultant until Adam’s death in 1984. Paul prints many of his fine arts color images also, mostly with Ilfochrome (formerly Cibachrome) materials directly from original transparencies Paul has been teaching evening credit classes in photography at the Western Wyoming Community College since 2002
