We welcome you to Bluffs Veterinary Clinic. Our full service veterinary facilities are located in Pine Bluffs, WY just off of Interstate 80. Our clinic is equipped to serve large and small animal health needs with modern equipment, an extensive pharmacy, and a veterinarian on call 24 hours a day.

Our progressive staff adheres to a high standard of veterinary care and are happy to answer any questions regarding the health of your pet. Attending continuing education courses each year makes it possible to introduce new methods into our practice and to the patients we are privileged to serve.

We are very proud of our clinic and the quality veterinary services we provide. We are dedicated to keeping your animals healthy, and we appreciate the confidence you have placed in us.

Modern anesthesia techniques, patient monitoring, and autoclaved sterilized instruments, ensurehigh standards of surgical care. A wide variety of surgeries are available through Bluffs Veterinary Clinic including:

Limited large animal surgeries are also available at BVC. We offer these in our padded stall. This makes the surgeries and recovery safer and more comfortable for our patients. These large animal surgeries include:

Ultrasonic cleaning, polishing, and when necessary, tooth extractions are performed under general anesthesia for companion animals. A variety of prophylactic products is available to help keep the tartar from rapidly accumulating.

Prevention is emphasized at Bluffs Veterinary Clinic by annual physical exams for your pet to detect medical problems as early as possible and vaccinations against common diseases. Fully equipped examination room and quality vaccines are used to protect your pet from disease. Reminder cards will notify you when vaccinations are due. Microchip IDs are available for pets and horses.

A fully equipped, clean, heated work area and pens or stalls are available for surgeries, treatments, vaccinations, and diagnostic procedures. A padded stall to prevent anesthesia recovery injuries and a tilt table especially good for hoof work is an added value for animal safety.

We carry a full line of pet supplies, including Hills Science Diets, flea and tick products, collars and leashes. Special diet foods are available for maintenance of weight, performance, growth, weight reduction, and control of certain diseases.

As a service to our clients, we do offer lodging. Every attempt is made to make all pets in our care feel at home. Familiar items and special treats are encouraged. The kennel room is climate controlled, and dogs are allowed outdoors to exercise twice daily. For your pet's protection, all hospitalized, boarding, or grooming animals must have current vaccinations.

We provide medicated baths and insecticide baths. A professional groomer is available by appointment. Typically a groom at our facility includes a hair cut, shampoo bath, expression of anal glands, ear hair removal, nail trim, and comb out. Upon request, any medical problems will be looked at or overdue vaccinations given.

24 HOUR EMERGENCY PAGING SERVICE
If an emergency ever arises, and you are in need of immediate care, please call us at the regular clinic phone number (307-245-9263 for inside Wyoming, or 1-800-245-9263 for Nebraska or Colorado residents). To obtain our goal in disease prevention rather than treatment, we have established complete health programs for feedlot cattle, cow/calf herds, dairy, swine, sheep, goats, horses, and llamas. These programs can be tailored to the individual herdsman's needs and include vaccinations, parasite control, necessary surgeries, and other procedures. We also offer consulting options for production records and financial analysis. Below is a picture of Dr. Shain spaying feedlot heifers.

Two ambulatory pickup units with fully equipped veterinary boxes are available for routine diagnosis, surgery, and treatment of outpatient animals. Additional portable equipment includes electroejaculator, X-Ray machine, and an ultrasound unit. A portable chute with scale is available for herd work.

CLINIC CATTLE FACILITIES
We offer in-clinic working facilities for individual and small groups of cattle. In this facility we perform exams and routine tests on livestock. We also have a tip table for trimming feet and treating foot problems in cattle. Pictured below are Dr. Shain and Amber treating a cow, with a foot problem, on the tip table.

Semen evaluations can be performed on bulls, boars, and rams. Pregnancy examinations of cows by rectal palpation or ultrasound are available through the clinic. Pelvic measuring and reproductive tract evaluations are recommended for all replacement heifers. Pregnancy testing is also available for small camelids.

Dr. Fornstrom has continued to advance his skill in equine reproduction. BVC offers a wide range of services from artificial insemination of mares and ultrasonic pregnancy diagnosis, to subfertile mare exams and treatment of reproductive diseases.

Our dental equipment, including Powerfloat, enables Dr. Fornstrom to perform high-quality, efficient equine dentistry. Maintaining the teeth is essential for the health and performance of your horse.
